I have started noticing more and more Feijoa plants at RHS Garden shows, both the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and at Hampton Court.
Feijoa at RHS Chelsea 2015
The first show garden I noticed Feijoa in was I’m pretty sure the 2015 Royal Bank of Canada Garden. Annoyingly I was on crutches and didn’t get photos, wish I had, there was one great one at 2015 that looked 50+ years old.
Feijoa at RHS Chelsea 2023
Next time I spotted any Feijoa was in 2023 and 5 gardens used them! Spotted via TV only haven’t been back to Chelsea or London since 2015. One of the gardens that included feijoa was Feels Like Home by the New Zealand garden designer Rosemary Coldstream. The garden won a Gold medal, as well as winning Best Balcony / Container Garden and the People’s Choice Best Balcony / Container Garden. You can see more about it here: Feels Like Home.
Will have to rewatch the 2023 broadcast to see what other gardens had Feijoa.
Feijoa at RHS Hampton Court 2024
At Hampton Court in 2024 Feijoa was listed as the Number 1 in the Standout Plant by the RHS link:10 standout plants of RHS Hampton 2024 – rightly so! Some may say I’m a little biased. The Feijoa was in the garden The Mediterraneo Garden by garden designer Katerina Kantalis and it also won a Gold medal, winning Best Get Started Garden and Best Construction Award you can see the garden here: The Mediterraneo Garden. Once again only noticed it from the TV coverage.

Feijoa at RHS Chelsea 2026 – Does the King have Feijoas?
From a quick glimpse on the BBC Chelsea coverage of this year in it looks as if The RHS and The King’s Foundation Curious Garden for RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026 designed by Frances Tophill with input from Sir David Beckham, Alan Titchmarsh CBE and King Charles III. More about The RHS and The King’s Foundation Curious Garden for RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026. I will update here if there’s more details or where it may be on the TV coverage.
