Are you looking where to buy feijoas in the UK? As feijoa lovers we were too and other than us at Feijoas.UK we haven’t found anyone selling UK grown fruit. Occasionally you can find imported feijoas that are picked before they’re ripe so that they can withstand the rigours of travel. They’re often smaller than what you’d normally expect but still decent at around 30-40 grams. Ours average the 50 grams range, a few photos can be seen here: Size of UK grown feijoas. Sadly not yet been able to grow any fruit of the size that the New Zealand varieties such as Mammoth and Moore which can have fruit between 150 grams and 300 grams!
You can occasionally buy feijoas at some UK Stores.
Update: 12th of February 2020 – Just been told on twitter that a grocer in Hackney is selling feijoas. 😀💚
If you are very lucky you can sometimes find feijoas in random stores. The fruit that are imported usually come from 2 main sources Georgia and the Caribbean Islands. We used to use a company that sold them online called Toucan Fruit (their link is still live on Amazon Feijoas – Toucan Fruit* – but currently listed as unavailable), sadly they don’t seem to be around any more, you may have luck growing your own: Where to buy feijoa plants.
A few people have reported certain Tesco and Sainsbury’s stores randomly have them as do Harrods in London. Feijoas in the UK can be expensive, the ones at Harrods of London store were selling at up to £10 per fruit!
Feel free to sign up to the newsletter to find out when you can next buy from Feijoas.UK
Hope that in 2020 but sadly more likely 2021 we will have a bigger farm and have more fruit for sale as the 2019 stock sold out in a 6 hour period.
